This is not the first time this has happened, y’all, and every time it does, it freaks me out a little. I was about to hit post on a blog post I wrote tonight all about teething (an hour of my time spent!), when I saw a blog post pop up on my Facebook feed from Sarah. It was the EXACT. same. blog. post. Numbered list of favorites. Calling Sophie baby crack. The frozen blueberries in the mesh bag. Pretty hilarious, actually. I actually recommended almost all of the items on Sarah’s list to her (other than the Boiron Camilia Teething Relief, we haven’t tried that). However, since H is about a month older than Lilly and started the process a little sooner, I didn’t really have anyone recommend any of them to me, it was more or less just trial and error (there are plenty of things we have that H isn’t interested in!). So, anyway, instead of posting the exact same thing, I’ll just link to Sarah’s. ;) (Just click the title of the post above to see the full list). I will reiterate that Hyland’s truly is a miracle from God and that the banana brush continues to be H’s favorite thing to gnaw on.
One other fave for us worth mentioning that Sarah didn’t mention isn’t actually something you can buy on Amazon or anywhere else, and it has proven to stand the test of time, since most people who recommended this to me were my parents’ age. It’s simple: wet a wash cloth, roll it up, and put it in the freezer. H LOVES to chew on these; I guess she loves the combination on the cold and the soft terry cloth.
We have been super lucky with teething so far (2 bottom teeth are all the way in and the top two aren’t far behind). H hasn’t lost any sleep over it except for one night when she screamed a few times, but luckily I never had to get her up…the Hyland’s did the trick immediately and she went right back to sleep. Other than that, we actually had no idea that the bottom teeth were coming in (they came in at the same time, at 6 months and 2 days old): no fussing, no obvious signs of pain, or anything like that…just incessant drooling, gnawing, etc. The last couple of weeks with her top teeth starting to make their way in, we have had a little bit of fussing and a couple times when she has just screamed out in pain, but still no loss of sleep or anything like that (fingers crossed that this continues!). The toughest part so far is keeping my eye on her at ALL times to make sure that what she is putting in her mouth is safe (read: not something that she could choke on, something dirty and/or one of Ralph’s toys!).
I have to say, the little teeth suuure are cute! ;)
Heading off now to watch some more of the Olympics…so addicted! Go USA!!
One more quick post tonight, just had to share a quick pic of Hadley sporting her new baltic amber teething necklace (figured we’d give it a shot!) and showing off her two little teeth. Have I mentioned lately how much I love this little lady? :)
